Groups & Activities

Friendship Group - Meets on a Tuesday at 2.30pm.  Talks and presentations by guest speakers.   It provides a lively forum to meet and share in real fellowship for church members and non-members.

 

WD40s - This is a ladies group for fellowship and mutual encouragement.  They meet on Thursdays – 10am to noon for lively discussions on topical subjects, with occasional Bible Study.

 

FM Group – Meets on the First Monday of each month at 8pm with a similar format to WD40s but includes men and ladies.

 

Upton Amblers - A walking group for exercise and Christian Fellowship.  A programme of monthly walks on Wednesdays and Saturdays is arranged. Again a mix of members and non-members.

 

Choir - This meets, as required, to prepare items for special services.

 

Sing Praise - A group of people meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in the month to learn modern Christian hymns and songs and promote their use in Sunday Worship.

 

Social Committee - A small group who arrange social events throughout the year, successfully combining good fun and entertainment with raising money for Church Funds.

 

Tuesday Home Group - This meets to study Bible themes on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in the month except August.

 

Thursday Home Group - Meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays in the month. Bible based studies and discussion. Started after our second Alpha course.

 

Boys’ Brigade – They meet on Friday evenings, they are part of the church (Officers are Church Members).  Their programme has included Badgework, Band, Hobbies, Safety, Leadership, Computer Studies, Handicrafts, Games etc.

 

Girls’ Brigade – They meet on Monday evenings, they are part of the church (Officers are Church Members).   Their Winter programme has included Badgework, Games, Handicrafts, etc.   In the Summer months, more time is spent outdoors, Walking, Games, Swimming and Visits, etc.

 

Parents and Toddlers – They meet on a Wednesday between 1.30 and 2.45pm during term-time.  It gives parents a welcome break and provides an opportunity for children to play together under supervision.  There is a variety of toys available and each week there is a craft activity.  A short period of songs and action rhymes ends the meeting.
